To protect the awesome water quality of The Great Lake Taupo Region from invasive freshwater threats, The Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board and The Department of Conservation require that all your swimming apparel and equipment has been CCD’d before entry into Lake Taupo.

AT REGISTRATION

DOC Staff will have a CHECK CLEAN DRY Station at event registration.

SWIMMING APPAREL must be brought to registration for checking.

KAYAKS -  Your accompanying kayak must be registered. If your kayak has come from another fresh waterway and has not been DRY for at least 48hrs then DOC will provide a cleaning solution and instructions so you can ensure that it is not contaminated. CCD cleaning will be available at the kayak briefing on race day but to avoid delays it is recommended that you manage this prior to the event.

THE TUWHARETOA MAORI TRUST BOARD AND THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR HELPING US TO PROTECT OUR WONDERFUL PLAYGROUND TO PROTECT OUR LAKES & RIVERS FROM INVASIVE PESTS.
