A late entry fee will apply after 22nd February. Entries will be taken up to 30-minutes prior to start.
4.2km open water challenge from Acacia Bay to 3 mile bay:
- Plus a 1km swim in a loop starting and finish at the 3 Mile Bay finish area.
- Wetsuits optional - expected Lake Temp. 22 C
- Individual NON-MOTORISED support craft optional. Individual Kayakers must be experienced and wear appropriate safety gear.
- Support and powered backup craft will be provided.
- Registration 5pm to 7pm at the Taupo Events Centre, Spa Rd.
- Start is from the Acacia Bay at 7.00 am. Briefing is at 6.55 am.
- Bus Transport from 3 Mile Bay to Acacia Bay start area will leave at 6.20 am. Drop bag service will return bags to finish area.
- Hot drinks and breakfast provided at finish by Plunket Society of Taupo.
- Prize-giving from 9.15am at the finish.
NOTES:
- Every endeavour will be made for your safety, however the Organisers and Sponsor cannot be held responsible for any accident in or out of the water. The risk is yours; please consult your doctor if you have any doubt regarding fitness. You enter at your own risk.

- Refund Policy: No refunds will be offered.
- Cancellation Policy: We apologize to those of you who were disappointed with our Cancellation last year. This year we will not be making any cancellation decision until 6 45am on event day. This will be in consultation with Lake Taupo Coastguard and only after we have considered an alternative safe, shoreline course.
- All major prizes will be spot prizes. Trophies are awarded for 1st place in Men, Women and junior categories. Other categories may be included at the organiser’s discretion. (i.e. Veteran /Masters Section)
- Children 12 years and under must have open water experience and individual (non-motorised) support craft.
- There will be no relay component this year.
- This Event is a Charitable Rotary Project. It is expensive to operate because of all the Safety measures. The small profit the event does make is distributed to the Swim for Life programme and other water based activities.
Swim caps provided must be worn by all competitors.
